Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday dismissed Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's reported remarks predicting the fall of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, describing them as 'daydreaming' and 'mere imagination'. The remarks came in response to allegations by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that Gandhi, during a meeting of the advisory council of the Congress minority department on Tuesday, claimed that the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would collapse within a year.
Fadnavis compares Gandhi's remarks to popular TV serial
Responding to the statement, Fadnavis quipped that Gandhi's comments reminded him of the popular Doordarshan television serial 'Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne', which revolves around a man lost in unrealistic daydreams. 'There used to be a popular television serial called Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne. His remark is nothing more than that,' Fadnavis told reporters. The chief minister made these remarks on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Godam Logistics Park in Nagpur, where Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was also present, as reported by news agency PTI.
Logistics park to boost manufacturing and reduce costs
Fadnavis highlighted that the logistics park would significantly benefit the manufacturing sector in the region and strengthen Nagpur's position as a logistics hub. 'If we look at recent developments, the comprehensive logistics policy we implemented has turned Nagpur into a national logistics hub. The logistics parks being built here will reduce operational costs,' he said. The chief minister further emphasized that lowering logistics expenses is essential for Indian businesses to compete globally and secure a place in international supply chains. 'If we want to be globally competitive and secure a spot in the global supply chain, lowering logistics costs is essential. That is precisely what we are enabling today through this platform,' he added.
The event underscored the state government's focus on infrastructure development and economic growth, with the logistics park expected to play a key role in reducing operational expenses for businesses in the region.
