A new fire incident in the capital region of Andhra Pradesh has raised serious alarms among state officials, occurring amidst a series of similar blazes reported over recent weeks. The latest mishap unfolded in Rayapudi, located within Amaravati, where flames erupted at the HOD building complex late at night.

According to preliminary reports, the fire was first detected around midnight near the area housing the Chief Secretaries' bungalows, causing immediate panic in the administrative zone. Firefighting teams responded swiftly to the scene and successfully contained the blaze before it could spread further or cause significant damage.
Officials disclosed that the fire involved pipes stored by Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited, which ignited under mysterious circumstances. This event has fueled suspicions, especially following a recent similar incident in Velagapudi, where pipes belonging to Larsen & Toubro were allegedly set on fire.
Investigation and Official Response
Police have initiated a thorough investigation to ascertain whether the Rayapudi fire was accidental or a deliberate act. The recurring pattern of such incidents has prompted the state government to treat the matter with heightened seriousness.
State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha has ordered a comprehensive probe into the series of fire accidents reported across the capital region. Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed strong concern and issued strict directives to senior police officials, including the Director General of Police, to uncover the truth behind these occurrences.
Chief Minister Naidu reportedly highlighted that the pipes involved would require temperatures exceeding 130–140 degrees Celsius to burn, making accidental ignition highly unlikely. He indicated the possibility of a larger conspiracy and instructed officials to link all recent incidents, aiming to complete the investigation within 24 hours. Naidu emphasized the urgent need to identify the exact cause swiftly and submit a detailed report without delay.
The situation remains under close scrutiny as authorities work to determine the root causes and prevent future incidents in the sensitive capital region.
