Ludhiana: A 10-year-old girl was robbed of her mobile phone and cash by two men on a motorcycle in a residential lane of Jagraon on Monday. The entire incident was captured on local CCTV cameras.

Details of the Robbery

According to the girl's father, Jaiveer, she and several other children were returning from their uncle's house when the motorcycle-borne men intercepted them in Babbe Wali Gali, near Rani Jhansi Chowk. The riders questioned the children about their parents' whereabouts. When the children replied that their parents were walking just behind them, the men rode ahead, executed a U-turn, and approached the group a second time.

The suspects then threatened the 10-year-old, snatched her phone and cash, and fled the scene. The robbery left the children terrified, with several fleeing in panic.

Local Concerns

Residents expressed alarm over a recent spike in thefts, noting that criminals are increasingly targeting residential streets, fueling a sense of insecurity. The incident has prompted calls for increased police patrolling.

Police Investigation

Inspector Parminder Singh, the Jagraon city police station chief, did not respond to requests for comment. However, police sources confirmed that investigators are reviewing the CCTV footage to identify the suspects.

Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as they work to apprehend the culprits.
