Gujarat CM Launches Rs 1,098 Crore Projects in Ahmedabad

In a significant push for urban development, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is set to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a series of projects totaling Rs 1,098 crore across Ahmedabad and its adjoining constituencies this Sunday. The initiative spans multiple sectors, including infrastructure, housing, water supply, and urban rejuvenation, aiming to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Key Infrastructure and Housing Projects

A major highlight of the event is the inauguration of the Sattadhar flyover in Ghatlodia, designed to alleviate traffic congestion at the busy Sattadhar Junction. This flyover measures 975 metres in length and 16.6 metres in width, featuring a four-lane carriageway of 7.5 metres to facilitate smoother vehicular movement. Additionally, the Chief Minister will inaugurate 882 houses and nine shops under the Ramdevpir Tekra Slum Redevelopment Scheme in Juna Vadaj, constructed at a cost of Rs 118.2 crore, providing improved living conditions for slum dwellers.

Water and Lake Rejuvenation Efforts

Several water and lake rejuvenation projects are also on the agenda, including the inauguration of an overhead water tank at Balol Nagar Water Distribution Station, costing Rs 5.7 crore, to enhance water supply reliability. Furthermore, the development of Ognaj Lake, Jagatpur Lake, and Thaltej Lake will be inaugurated, with a combined investment exceeding Rs 20 crore, aimed at restoring these water bodies and boosting environmental sustainability in the region.

Statue Unveiling and Overall Impact

In a symbolic gesture, the statue of Bharat Mata at Nava Vadaj Circle will be unveiled during the ceremony. Overall, 19 development projects worth Rs 322.8 crore will be inaugurated across the Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad East, and Ahmedabad West Lok Sabha constituencies. Simultaneously, foundation stones will be laid for 49 new projects estimated at Rs 673.4 crore, signaling a continued commitment to urban growth and infrastructure enhancement in Gujarat.
