Haryana CM Slams AAP, Says Punjab Now 'Kangla' Under Mann

Haryana CM Saini Launches Fresh Attack on AAP Leaders Over Punjab

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini launched a fresh round of scathing attacks on his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann and AAP supremo Arvind Kejwal on Saturday. He accused AAP leaders of turning prosperous Punjab into a bankrupt state. Saini made these remarks while interacting with mediapersons in Chandigarh after releasing funds for various welfare schemes.

Saini Accuses AAP of Ruining Punjab's Prosperity

Saini stated that people in Punjab are desperately looking forward to the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He used strong words to describe the situation. "Inhone Punjab ko Rangla Punjab se Kangla Punjab bana diya," he said. This translates to "They have turned prosperous Punjab into bankrupt Punjab."

The Haryana CM also referred to the aspirations of Punjab's people and their growing inclination towards the BJP. He highlighted the shared boundaries between Haryana and Punjab. Saini mentioned that people and leaders from Punjab frequently visit Haryana. He explained that as party workers, they attend to these visitors and participate in programs as directed by the party high command.

Questioning Farmer Compensation Claims

Saini raised pointed questions about farmer compensation promises made by AAP leaders. He noted that Bhagwant Mann claims to give farmers Rs 20,000 per acre. Arvind Kejriwal reportedly claimed in Gujarat that Punjab farmers receive Rs 50,000 per acre.

"Where has the Rs 30,000 per acre gone? Who coughed it up?" Saini questioned. This direct challenge aimed to highlight discrepancies in AAP's statements regarding agricultural support.

Criticism Over Atishi's Remarks

The Haryana chief minister also criticized AAP for its handling of remarks made by Delhi minister Atishi. He accused Kejriwal and the party of shielding Atishi. Saini expressed strong disapproval of the statements made by Atishi.

"At a time and in a place where one cannot even imagine disrespecting the gurus who sacrificed their entire families, these people are making such statements," he said. Saini found it ironic that instead of expelling such a person from the party, AAP and Kejriwal remained silent.

Welfare Schemes Disbursement

Before his media interaction, Saini digitally disbursed funds under various welfare schemes directly into beneficiaries' accounts. He released the third instalment of the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana. An amount of Rs 181 crore was deposited into the accounts of 8.6 lakh beneficiary women.

With this disbursement, a total of Rs 441 crore has been distributed in three instalments under this scheme. Saini announced amendments to include more women under the scheme. Starting from February 2026, Rs 1,100 will be directly deposited into beneficiaries' savings accounts. The balance amount of Rs 1,000 will be deposited in a government-operated RD or FD account.

Support for Farmers

Saini also released Rs 659 crore under various welfare schemes for farmers. He emphasized that farmer welfare remains at the center of their policies. The disbursement included several key components:

  • An incentive amount of Rs 461.74 crore was released to 5,54,405 farmers who did not burn stubble under the Crop Residue Management Scheme.
  • A grant amount of Rs 85.1 crore was released to farmers for 9,885 crop residue management machines.
  • An incentive amount of Rs 75.54 crore was released to 31,605 farmers who practiced direct seeding of paddy.
  • An amount of Rs 15.7 crore was given to 13,500 farmers under the Mera Pani Meri Virasat scheme.

These initiatives demonstrate the Haryana government's focus on agricultural support and environmental conservation. Saini's comments and actions highlight the ongoing political tensions between Haryana's BJP-led administration and Punjab's AAP government.
