Haryana Chief Minister Launches Major Development Push in Jind District
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday unveiled a comprehensive package of development projects valued at Rs 253 crore during a 'Dhanyawad Evam Vikas Rally' held in Jind. This significant initiative marks a robust effort to enhance infrastructure and public services across the district, addressing key areas such as irrigation, housing, and transportation.
Inauguration of Key Projects Worth Over Rs 112 Crore
Chief Minister Saini inaugurated three major projects with a combined investment exceeding Rs 112 crore. Among these, the reconstruction of Jind Distributary No. 4, completed by the irrigation and water resources department at a cost of Rs 16 crore, stands out as a critical upgrade for water management. Additionally, modern micro-irrigation systems at the village level, solar-powered irrigation facilities, and a balancing reservoir for water storage in Intal Khurd village were inaugurated, developed at a substantial cost of Rs 39 crore. These projects aim to boost agricultural efficiency and water conservation in the region.
Foundation Stones Laid for 12 Projects Totaling Over Rs 140 Crore
In a parallel move, the chief minister laid the foundation stones for 12 projects with a total value of more than Rs 140 crore. These initiatives span diverse sectors, including agriculture marketing, housing, roads, health, drainage, and water supply. Notably, a purchase centre at Manoharpur village by the Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, costing Rs 3 crore, is set to improve market access for local farmers. Under the CRIF scheme, foundation stones were laid for the four-laning, widening, and strengthening of the Panipat–Safidon (State Highway-11) and Safidon–Jind (State Highway-14) corridors, which will enhance connectivity and road safety.
Infrastructure and Public Welfare Enhancements
Further bolstering the development agenda, Chief Minister Saini dedicated the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Library building at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, constructed at a cost of Rs 56 crore, providing a state-of-the-art educational resource for students. He also initiated the construction of an Integrated Sainik Sadan by the District Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department, with an investment of Rs 9 crore, aimed at supporting veterans and their families. Additionally, Public Health Engineering Department projects worth Rs 35 crore were launched, including three canal-based water supply schemes in Jalalpura Kalan, Intal Kalan, and Intal Khurd villages, ensuring better access to clean water for residents.
This extensive rollout of projects underscores the Haryana government's commitment to accelerating regional development and improving the quality of life for citizens in Jind district through targeted investments in critical infrastructure and public services.
