Congress MLA Renu Bala from Sadhaura has started attending Bharatiya Janata Party meetings, raising speculation about a possible switch. Her husband, Rishi Pal, had already joined the BJP in June in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini at a programme in Vyaspur town, Yamunanagar district. On Saturday, a meeting of the Vyaspur mandal of the BJP was held in Vyaspur, which both Rishi Pal and Renu Bala attended. Rishi Pal is an influential political leader in the Sadhaura Assembly segment, and his entry into the BJP had already stirred political activity in the area. Renu Bala has won two consecutive terms as MLA from this constituency.
Congress leader claims IPS officers found Rampal innocent
In Hisar, Congress leader Dharambir Goyat visited the ashram of controversial godman Rampal in Dhanana village, Sonepat district, and told Rampal that two IPS officers from Haryana had claimed they could not find any fault with him. Goyat named the two officers, and a video of his interaction went viral. These IPS officers were deployed in Hisar during the 2014 operation to arrest Rampal. Rampal spent over 11 years in jail on charges including murder and sedition, and was released in April this year. He has received major relief in several criminal cases. A stream of politicians from various parties have been visiting him to seek his blessings.
INLD criticises anti-CM remarks
INLD state president Rampal Majra raised concerns about unsavoury comments made by certain politicians against former Haryana Chief Ministers Bansi Lal, Bhajan Lal, and Om Prakash Chautala. Addressing a dharna in Chanot village, Hansi district, Majra said such defamatory remarks indicate that power has an intoxicating effect on these politicians. Former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma recently made remarks about the former CMs, sparking discussion among Haryanvis.
Anil Vij eases employee protest
In Ambala, firebrand BJP minister Anil Vij, known for taking on-the-spot action, showed a different side when he personally reached out to protesting Power Department employees who had come to gherao his residence. Vij advised the employees to raise slogans strongly but also add a line: "Har zor-zulm ki takkar mein sangharsh hamara nara hai, Anil Vij tumhara hai." After his unexpected response and assurance, the employees ended their protest.
SDM relieved of DMC charge sparks buzz
In Jhajjar, relieving Bahadurgarh SDM Abhinav Siwach of the charge of District Municipal Commissioner has created a buzz. Some see it as a routine administrative move, while others link it to the ongoing row between Bahadurgarh Municipal Council councillors and civic officials. The MC chairperson and several councillors had recently approached the Deputy Commissioner, accusing officials of issuing notices to elected representatives in a malicious and discriminatory manner, and sought an impartial inquiry.
Haryana BJP president cycles through Faridabad
In Gurugram, the atmosphere in Faridabad was electric on Sunday as Haryana BJP president Archana Gupta cycled over 2 km, leaving onlookers and party leaders awestruck. Her spirited enthusiasm rivalled even the youngest cadre. BJP minister Rajesh Nagar noted that she energetically sprinted up stairs, leaving him behind, and made him proud of the party’s decision to infuse youth energy in leadership.
