CM Hemant Soren Pledges Developed Jharkhand by 2050 in New Year Message
Hemant Soren's 2050 Vision for a 'Sona Jharkhand'

In his New Year address to the people of Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren laid out an ambitious roadmap to propel the state into the league of developed Indian states by the year 2050. Delivering his message via a post on his verified X account on Thursday, Soren committed his government to intensifying efforts for holistic development and prosperity.

A Vision for a Golden Jharkhand

The Chief Minister stated that the year 2026 signifies more than just the start of a new calendar; it represents a crucial stride towards realising the dream of 'Sona Jharkhand' (Golden Jharkhand), a vision cherished by the state's brave ancestors. In his reflective post, Soren also paid heartfelt tributes to his late father, Shibu Soren, and former state school education and literacy minister, Ramdas Soren, both of whom passed away in 2025.

Reflecting on the Journey and Setting Future Goals

Taking stock of Jharkhand's path since its formation in the year 2000, Hemant Soren acknowledged the long journey of struggle, determination, and untapped potential. He credited the collective efforts of all sections of society, with special mention of tribals, farmers, labourers, women, and the youth, for playing a pivotal role in the state's progress.

"We have taken several important steps towards ensuring social justice, public welfare, and inclusive development in the state," Soren wrote. He emphasised that his administration has consistently worked on welfare-oriented governance, implementing programs to enhance education quality, expand healthcare access, and protect the state's rich natural resources, ensuring schemes benefit the last person in line.

The 2050 Blueprint: Education, Health, and Jobs

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister outlined the core pillars of the government's strategy to build a prosperous, just, and sustainable Jharkhand by 2050. The future policies and programs will be squarely centred on:

  • Strengthening education and healthcare systems.
  • Generating jobs, employment, and self-employment opportunities.
  • Ensuring robust social security.
  • Conserving the environment and natural resources.
  • Safeguarding the rights, interests, and dignity of local communities.

By prioritising these areas, the government aims to translate the vision of a developed and equitable Jharkhand into reality over the next quarter-century.
