The Himachal Pradesh state government has launched an online booking facility for the 21-bed dormitory at Circuit House Hamirpur by integrating it with the existing HIM Atithi portal, effective from May 20. This initiative is primarily aimed at benefiting students visiting Hamirpur for competitive examinations and other educational activities by providing affordable and convenient accommodation.
Pricing Details
Under the new system, Himachali residents will be charged Rs 100 per bed, while non-Himachali residents will have to pay Rs 200 per bed. The booking can now be done seamlessly online through the HIM Atithi platform.
Background of Online Booking for Government Rest Houses
The government had earlier started online booking for government rest houses and circuit houses in May 2025 on a 50% advance payment basis. This move was intended to make the facilities more transparent, accessible, and citizen-friendly. The initiative has significantly improved the occupancy of rest houses and circuit houses while also increasing government revenue and public accessibility, particularly for tourists, students, and other visitors.
The integration of the dormitory at Circuit House Hamirpur into the HIM Atithi portal is expected to further enhance the convenience for travelers, especially those on a budget. The government continues to expand its digital services to promote tourism and support educational activities in the state.
