Shukla stated that these core values continue to guide the nation's path.
The Governor stressed the collective responsibility of citizens to uphold Ambedkar's visionary ideals. He called for continuous efforts towards building an inclusive, just, and empowered India. In his remarks, Shukla offered a poignant reflection, noting, "We often remain conscious of our rights, but it is only by fulfilling our duties that our rights remain protected."
Chief Minister and Congress Leaders Pay Floral Tributes
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu paid his respects at the historic Chaura Maidan in Shimla. He was accompanied by several of his cabinet ministers, State Congress President Vinay Kumar, and other prominent party leaders.
The Chief Minister laid floral tributes before a portrait of Dr. Ambedkar. Sukhu described him as a visionary statesman and a pioneering social reformer who dedicated his entire life to the cause of equality, justice, and securing the rights of marginalized and oppressed communities.
Legacy of a Constitutional Architect
In his address, CM Sukhu highlighted that Dr. Ambedkar's seminal efforts in drafting the Constitution of India guaranteed equal rights to all citizens, irrespective of background. He emphasized that this foundational document profoundly strengthened democratic values and provided a framework for a progressive society.
The commemorative events across Shimla reinforced the enduring relevance of Babasaheb Ambedkar's teachings in contemporary India.
