Himachal Prepares for President Murmu's Visit: Security Reviewed

Shimla: Ahead of President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Himachal Pradesh, chief secretary Sanjay Gupta on Friday directed officials to ensure that all necessary measures were put in place to facilitate a smooth, secure and well-coordinated visit.

The President is scheduled to visit Kangra, Shimla and Lahaul & Spiti districts from April 27 to May 2. During a meeting, Gupta reviewed security arrangements, issuance and regulation of security passes, traffic management, coordination of press coverage and other related matters.

The chief secretary emphasised the need for seamless coordination among all departments and agencies, strict adherence to security protocols and timely execution of all arrangements. Director general of police Ashok Tiwari, secretary (GAD) Aashish Singhmar, deputy commissioner Anupam Kashyap, Shimla SP Gaurav Singh, and representatives of the Army were present in the meeting. Deputy commissioners of Kangra, Kullu and Lahaul & Spiti districts participated in the meeting through virtual mode.
