The Hubballi-Dharwad Ward Samiti Balaga Trust officially opened its new head office, Nagarikar Bhavan, on Sunday at Tapas Mansion in Hubballi. During the event, the trust also unveiled the Ward Mitra logo and initiated a new membership drive.
Inaugural Ceremony Highlights
Senior journalist Arunkumar Habbu, who inaugurated the programme, praised the trust's efforts to organize citizens for the formation of ward committees as a step towards administrative decentralization. He described the establishment of Nagarikar Bhavan as a bold and meaningful move. Habbu noted that the release of the Ward Mitra logo and the membership campaign reflect the trust's commitment to ensuring quality basic amenities for Hubballi-Dharwad residents. He expressed optimism that the court would soon deliver a verdict favorable to citizens' interests and affirmed his continued association with the trust even after retirement.
Chief Guest's Remarks
Chief guest Basavaraj Kamadolli highlighted that many democratic countries are now embracing the philosophy of Basavanna. He emphasized that for democracy to truly protect citizens' interests, educated, ethical, and committed individuals must come together, commending the trust's efforts in this direction.
