Tragic Accident Claims Life of Two-Year-Old Boy in Hyderabad's Miyapur

A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Hyderabad's Miyapur area on Saturday morning when a two-year-old boy lost his life after an iron gate collapsed on him while he was playing. The child, identified as Riyansh Sharma, was the son of Virendra Sharma, a 28-year-old native of Uttar Pradesh who had migrated to Hyderabad for employment opportunities.

Family Background and Circumstances

Virendra Sharma, who works as a welder, had moved to Hyderabad approximately five years ago in search of better livelihood prospects. He married Gyani Sharma eight years ago, and the couple has two children: a seven-year-old daughter and their youngest, Riyansh. While Virendra resided in Miyapur, his wife and children would visit him periodically from their hometown.

Details of the Fatal Incident

According to police reports, the incident took place when Riyansh was playing near iron gates that had been temporarily placed against a wall at a residential complex. The gates were reportedly awaiting installation at a construction site within the premises.

While engaged in play, the toddler pulled on one of the iron gates, causing it to suddenly collapse and fall directly on him. The impact resulted in severe injuries to the young child. Hearing the commotion, his parents rushed outside from their home to discover their son trapped beneath the heavy gate.

Emergency Response and Medical Efforts

The distraught parents immediately transported Riyansh to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Despite the swift response and efforts by healthcare professionals to save the child's life, Riyansh succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Sub-inspector J Mounica confirmed that police were notified and promptly arrived at the scene following the incident. The child's body was subsequently transferred to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

Authorities have registered a case regarding the tragic incident and have initiated a thorough investigation to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the accident. The inquiry aims to determine whether proper safety measures were in place at the residential complex and whether negligence contributed to the fatal occurrence.

This devastating event highlights the importance of safety precautions in residential areas, particularly concerning construction materials and temporary installations that may pose hazards to children. The investigation continues as authorities work to piece together the sequence of events that led to this preventable tragedy.
