Hyderabad: Fatal Bike-Moped Collision Claims Life of 23-Year-Old, Leaves Three Injured
A devastating road accident in the Moulali area of Hyderabad on Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a 23-year-old private worker and injuries to three others, including two minors. The incident occurred when a speeding motorcycle collided head-on with a moped coming from the opposite direction, leading to a fiery crash that was quickly extinguished by local residents.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to the Malkajgiri police, the deceased has been identified as Deshpak Shreyanth, a 23-year-old store in-charge at a Hyundai showroom located in ECIL. The accident took place around 1:30 AM near Noor School in the Moula Ali Kaman vicinity. Shreyanth was traveling on his bike with a colleague named Mahesh, heading from ECIL towards Moulali, when the collision occurred.
Police investigation, based on CCTV footage analysis, revealed that Shreyanth was driving in a rash and negligent manner. He attempted to overtake a car at high speed, veered into the wrong lane, and crashed into the moped coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that the moped caught fire immediately, though locals acted swiftly to douse the flames.
Injuries and Aftermath
All four individuals involved in the accident sustained injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, Shreyanth was declared brought dead upon arrival. The other victims—Mahesh and the two minors from Dammaiguda who were on the moped—are reported to be out of danger and recovering.
Police have registered a case under Sections 125(a) and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), focusing on charges related to rash driving and negligence. To determine if alcohol played a role in the incident, authorities have preserved Shreyanth's viscera samples for Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) analysis. This step is part of a thorough investigation to ascertain the exact causes and circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
