Hyderabad Teen Booked for Street Stunts on Scooter

The Banjara Hills police in Hyderabad have registered a suo motu case against a 19-year-old delivery executive for performing dangerous stunts on his scooter on public roads. The teenager, identified as Md Shadab, had uploaded videos of his stunts on Instagram, which went viral on social media.

Incident Details

On Monday evening, constable YB Prasad of Banjara Hills police station filed a complaint after noticing Instagram reels showing a rider performing risky two-wheeler stunts on roads near KBR National Park, Shameerpet, and other parts of the city. Using the videos, police identified the scooter through its registration number.

In his complaint, the constable stated: “The person was driving in a rash and negligent manner by performing dangerous stunts on public roads, thereby causing danger to public safety and endangering human life and personal safety of commuters and pedestrians.”

Accused Identified

Police identified the accused as Md Shadab, a 19-year-old delivery executive from Devarkonda Basti on Road No. 5, Banjara Hills. A case was registered against him under Section 125 (Act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the BNS and Section 184 (driving dangerously) of the MV Act on Monday.

Legal Action and Seizure

According to Banjara Hills inspector S Suhasan, Shadab is a school dropout who worked as a delivery executive and did not possess a valid driving licence. Police seized the scooter, which is registered in his mother’s name. Officials said that his mother may also face legal action for allowing an unlicensed person to use the vehicle.

The case highlights the dangers of performing stunts on public roads and the legal consequences for such actions. Police have urged citizens to refrain from such activities and to follow traffic rules strictly.
