Indore Murder Case: Family Believes Deceased Businessman Reborn as Nephew

A chilling murder case from Indore that captured national attention last year has resurfaced with an extraordinary twist. The family of transport businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, who was found dead during a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya in June 2025, now claims he has taken another birth within the same household.

Eerie Timing and Astrological Signs

On Sunday, a baby boy was born to Raja's elder brother, Sachin Raghuvanshi. The family instinctively named the newborn 'Raja,' seeing it as a profound sign of reincarnation. What deepens their conviction is the striking overlap in timing. According to the post-mortem report, Raja was killed around 2:40 PM on Ekadashi, the eleventh lunar day in the Hindu calendar. The baby boy entered this world on Ekadashi at almost the same time, approximately 2:42 PM.

Vipin Raghuvanshi, Raja's younger brother, emphasized that this near-identical timing is not being dismissed as mere coincidence. For the family, it is a divine sign reinforcing their belief that Raja has returned to them. They further assert that the newborn's horoscope matches that of Raja's, and the baby bears a striking resemblance to Raja as an infant.

Emotional Closure and Renewed Joy

Raja's mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, shared that whenever the family utters the name 'Raja,' the baby responds in a familiar manner, convincing her more than ever of her son's return. The family recalls a priest at Kamakhya temple, who officiated Raja's thirteenth-day ritual, suggesting that since Raja did not die a natural death, his soul might not break free from the cycle of birth and could be reborn in the same family.

On the day of his marriage, Raja's room had been decorated for him and his wife. After his death, the family could not bring themselves to remove the decorations, struggling to accept his loss. On Monday, the newborn was brought into that same room, transforming the once silent space into a scene of celebration. Vipin noted that the joyful atmosphere reminded him of Raja's wedding, with the house now throbbing with visitors celebrating Raja's rebirth.

Background of the Murder Case

Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered allegedly by his newlywed wife, Sonam, her rumoured lover Raj Kushwaha, and two friends in Shillong in May 2025. The grim sequence began with their marriage on May 11, 2025, followed by a trip to Meghalaya on May 20. Contact was lost on May 24, and a search led to the recovery of Raja's body from a gorge on June 2. His body was brought to Indore on June 4, and Sonam was traced near Ghazipur on June 9, with multiple arrests following.

All accused, including Sonam and Raj Kushwaha, are currently in jail as legal proceedings continue. The family has urged for the matter to be heard in a fast-track court to ensure justice is served.

While grief still lingers in the household, there is now a renewed happiness around the belief that Raja has returned. This extraordinary claim adds a layer of spiritual significance to a case that remains a focal point in both local and national news.
