Senior AIADMK Leader Denies Political Switch
In a strong rebuttal to swirling political rumors, former AIADMK minister D Jayakumar has firmly dismissed speculation about his potential move to actor Vijay's newly formed Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). The senior leader made his position unequivocally clear during statements to the media on Friday, putting an end to conjecture that had gained momentum following his former cabinet colleague K A Sengottaiyan's decision to join the actor's political outfit.
"Tail of a Tiger" Over "Head of a Mouse"
Jayakumar employed powerful imagery to emphasize his commitment to the AIADMK, declaring he would remain with the party "till his last breath." The veteran politician articulated his stance with a memorable analogy: "I would rather remain the tail of a tiger than the head of a mouse," he stated, adding that such rumors about his departure were laughable and without foundation.
The former minister reflected on his extensive political journey with the party, highlighting the significant roles and responsibilities entrusted to him over the years. "AIADMK made me minister of several departments and Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Assembly," he recounted. "I was also entrusted with various responsibilities within the organisation and currently serve as Organising Secretary. What more could one ask for?"
Warm Wishes for Former Colleague
Addressing Sengottaiyan's recent move to TVK, Jayakumar maintained a gracious tone toward his former cabinet colleague. He referred to Sengottaiyan as his "beloved brother" and extended his best wishes for his future political endeavors. "I extend my best wishes to him, wherever he goes and whatever he chooses to do," Jayakumar stated, demonstrating political maturity while reaffirming his own unwavering commitment to the AIADMK.
This development comes at a crucial time in Tamil Nadu politics as new political formations emerge and established parties work to maintain their organizational strength. Jayakumar's firm declaration serves to bolster AIADMK's position while clarifying the political landscape for party workers and supporters alike.
