Kanpur Nagar Ranks 2nd in UP Land Consolidation 2025 with 83.5% Score
Kanpur Nagar Secures 2nd Spot in UP Land Consolidation Rankings

Kanpur Nagar district has emerged as a top performer in the crucial administrative task of land consolidation across Uttar Pradesh. The district secured an impressive second position in the state-wide rankings for the year 2025, as declared by the Consolidation Commissioner's Office on Friday.

Basis of the Ranking and Top Performers

The rankings were meticulously determined based on a composite evaluation of several critical parameters. The primary factors included the average percentage of progress recorded under sections 10, 23, 24, and 52 across villages. Additionally, the average percentage of case disposals and the satisfaction percentage of account holders with the complaint resolution process were key determinants of the final score.

Bhadohi district clinched the top position in the state with a score of 84.2%. Kanpur Nagar followed closely behind with a robust 83.5%. The other districts that made it to the top five include Auraiya with 82.3%, while both Kanpur Dehat and Banda shared a score of 81.5%.

Detailed Progress in Kanpur Nagar's Consolidation Drive

During the financial year 2025-26, the land consolidation process was actively undertaken in a total of 42 villages within the Kanpur Nagar district. This initiative represents a significant administrative effort to streamline land holdings and resolve related disputes.

A notable milestone was achieved as proceedings under Section 52 were successfully concluded in two of these villages. This completion marks the formal end of the entire consolidation process in those villages. The work continues at a steady pace in the remaining 40 villages, where the consolidation process is currently underway.

Significance and Impact of the Achievement

Securing the second rank in a large and populous state like Uttar Pradesh underscores the efficiency and dedication of the district's revenue and consolidation administration. Land consolidation is a vital process for rural development, as it helps in reducing fragmentation of agricultural plots, leading to better farm management and fewer legal disputes over land ownership.

The high score, particularly in complaint disposal satisfaction, indicates a citizen-centric approach in handling potentially contentious land matters. This ranking not only brings recognition to Kanpur Nagar but also sets a benchmark for transparent and effective governance in land administration, potentially encouraging other districts to enhance their performance.
