Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has defended the Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township project in Bidadi, stating that the township was not conceived by him. The project, touted as India's first AI-powered integrated township, is seen as one of Shivakumar's ambitious initiatives.
Clarification on Project Origin
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Shivakumar clarified that the Bidadi township project was not his personal conception. He emphasized that the project was a collective decision aimed at addressing Bengaluru's urban sprawl and infrastructure needs.
Project Details
The Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township is envisioned as a smart city with AI-powered systems for traffic management, waste disposal, and energy efficiency. The project aims to decongest Bengaluru by creating a self-sustained satellite township.
Shivakumar's remarks come amid criticism from opposition parties who alleged that the project was a pet project of the Chief Minister. The CM defended the project's merits, highlighting its potential to boost economic growth and provide affordable housing.
The project has been in the planning stages for several years and is expected to attract significant investment from both domestic and international developers.
