Kerala man kills sex worker, sleeps while disposing body

In a shocking incident that has stunned Kerala, a 35-year-old man was arrested for brutally murdering a sex worker and then falling asleep while attempting to dispose of her body. The gruesome crime occurred in Ernakulam district, exposing a tragic tale of violence stemming from a financial disagreement.

The Deadly Argument Over Money

According to police reports, the accused, identified as Shiju, a resident of Kalamassery, contacted the victim through a mobile application with the intention of engaging in sexual services. The two agreed to meet at a lodge in Kalamassery on Monday, where their encounter took a violent turn.

The confrontation began when Shiju refused to pay the agreed-upon amount of ₹3,000 for the services rendered. What started as a verbal argument quickly escalated into physical violence. In a fit of rage, Shiju allegedly strangled the 32-year-old woman to death during their heated exchange about the payment.

Failed Attempt to Dispose Evidence

After realizing he had killed the woman, Shiju panicked and decided to dispose of the body to conceal his crime. In a bizarre twist that baffled investigators, the murderer fell asleep while waiting for an opportunity to dump the body.

Police investigation revealed that Shiju had placed the victim's body in a gunny bag and loaded it into an auto-rickshaw. He drove around searching for a suitable location to dispose of the evidence but couldn't find an appropriate spot immediately. Exhausted from the physical struggle and the mental stress of committing murder, he unexpectedly dozed off inside the vehicle with the body still in his possession.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The Ernakulam police became involved when suspicious locals noticed the unusual situation and alerted authorities. Officers from the Kalamassery police station responded to the scene and discovered Shiju asleep in the auto-rickshaw with the victim's body nearby.

During interrogation, Shiju confessed to the murder and provided details about the sequence of events. He admitted that the primary motive was the financial dispute over the payment for sexual services. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are conducting further investigations to determine if there were any additional factors involved in the crime.

This tragic incident highlights the vulnerability of sex workers and the extreme violence that can result from seemingly ordinary disputes. The Kerala police have assured the public that they are treating the case with utmost seriousness and will ensure justice is served for the victim.
