In a significant development, activist Gurjeet Singh Khalsa is scheduled to descend from a towering 400-foot telecommunications structure in Samana this Friday, marking the peaceful conclusion of the prolonged Samana Tower Morcha. The final phase of the morcha commenced with an Akhand Path, a continuous reading of the Sikh scriptures, which began early Wednesday morning near Baba Banda Singh Bahadar Chowk. According to activists involved, the Bhog ceremony, marking the completion of this religious observance, is set for Friday around 10 am. It is after this ceremony that Khalsa will make his descent from the telecom tower, where he has been stationed for an extended period.
The protest was initiated in response to repeated incidents of sacrilege against Sri Guru Granth Sahib, which have caused widespread anguish across Punjab over recent years. "We are making every possible effort to maintain contact with Gurjeet Singh and to bring him down in a safe manner," Mann stated.

The district administration has consulted with police, fire brigade, and other expert agencies, and has formally requested technical assistance from the Indian Army.
Samana Sub-Divisional Magistrate Richa Goyal explained that the Army's involvement was sought due to its specialized experience and equipment for high-risk rescue operations. While Khalsa has indicated his intention to climb down independently, authorities are not taking any chances, given his deteriorating health during the protest. Morcha coordinator Gurpreet Singh confirmed that Khalsa suffers from diabetes and other ailments, which have been exacerbated by his time on the tower.
ADC Mann reiterated the administration's priority: "The first priority of the district administration is the protection of a human life. The entire operation is being carried out safely, without any haste."
