Kharra Meets Bhilwara Workers, Inaugurates Dungarpur Housing

State Urban Development and Housing (UDH) Minister Jhabbar Singh Kharra made a significant stop in Bhilwara on Thursday, engaging with local representatives and addressing key civic issues before proceeding to Dungarpur for a major housing scheme inauguration.

Minister's Assurance to Bhilwara Sanitation Staff

During his brief halt at the Bhilwara Circuit House, Minister Kharra was formally received by a delegation including BJP District President Prashant Mewara, Mayor Rakesh Pathak, and local MLA Ashok Kothari. A group of sanitation workers from the Bhilwara Municipal Corporation seized the opportunity to present a memorandum detailing their long-pending demands directly to the minister.

Kharra gave a patient hearing and assured the workers that their concerns would be addressed appropriately. This interaction highlighted the state government's focus on grassroots-level issues and the welfare of municipal employees.

Dungarpur Housing Project Ready for Handover

The minister's primary destination was Dungarpur, where he was scheduled to inaugurate the much-anticipated Chief Minister Jan Awas Yojana later the same day. Speaking about the project, Kharra revealed that the construction work had been delayed for a considerable period.

"After my recent visit to Dungarpur, I instructed officials to speed up the process. The work is now nearly finished," the UDH Minister stated. He confirmed that the inauguration ceremony would involve the symbolic handing over of keys to the beneficiaries, marking a crucial step in providing affordable housing.

Clarity on Civic Election Timeline

On the topic of impending urban local body elections, Minister Kharra reiterated the state government's consistent position of "one state, one election." He provided an update, noting that the necessary groundwork at the civic level was completed in September 2025.

The minister clarified that the subsequent steps and the final election schedule now depend on the decisions of the Backward Commission and the State Election Commission, shifting the onus to these independent constitutional bodies.

Minister Kharra's visit underscored a dual focus: addressing immediate grievances of workers in Bhilwara and celebrating the completion of a vital public welfare housing scheme in Dungarpur, all while keeping the public informed about the roadmap for local democratic exercises.
