In a scene of delightful chaos that has taken social media by storm, a massive 36-pound birthday cake disappeared within seconds at the office of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Patna during leader Tejashwi Yadav's 36th birthday celebrations.
The Great Cake Grab
The incident occurred on Sunday at the RJD state headquarters where party workers had gathered to celebrate their leader's special day. The celebration took an unexpected turn when children present at the office swarmed the cake table immediately after Yadav cut the massive dessert.
Instead of waiting for the cake to be sliced and served properly, the excited youngsters grabbed handfuls of the cake directly, causing the entire 36-pound confection to vanish in mere seconds. The viral video capturing the moment shows children crowding around the table, pushing and laughing as they claimed their sweet prize.
Birthday Celebrations and Political Significance
The cake incident was part of larger birthday festivities for the opposition leader. Tejashwi Yadav celebrated his 36th birthday on Sunday, with celebrations beginning from Saturday night when he marked the occasion privately with his family including his wife, mother and former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, and sister Rohini Acharya.
On Sunday morning, several RJD leaders gathered at Rabri Devi's residence to wish Yadav and distributed sweets among themselves. The timing of the birthday is particularly significant as it comes just days ahead of the second phase of Bihar elections.
Political Promises Amid Celebrations
Yadav, who is the INDIA bloc's chief ministerial candidate, used the birthday occasion to make significant political promises to his supporters. While campaigning in the Karakat assembly seat of Rohtas district, where he was presented with another birthday cake, Yadav declared: "I thank you all for birthday wishes. I promise you that as soon as we form government, after counting of votes on November 14, you all will get a return gift."
The former deputy chief minister and leader of opposition in the outgoing assembly made a bold comparison, stating: "You have given the NDA a chance to rule for 20 years. Give me a chance. I will prove myself in 20 months."
The young leader kept his election day address brief, apologizing to people by explaining he had 17 programmes lined up during the day as campaigning concluded for the high-stakes assembly elections.
The viral cake video has added a moment of lightheartedness to the intense political atmosphere in Bihar, providing social media users with entertainment while the state prepares for crucial electoral decisions.
