Tragic Road Accident Claims Two Lives in Koderma
A devastating road accident on the Koderma-Giridih main road resulted in the deaths of two individuals on Thursday. The incident occurred near Nagarkhara under the jurisdiction of the Koderma police station.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The victims have been identified as 62-year-old Dineshwar Thakur, a resident of Nawalshahi, and his 35-year-old son-in-law, Sachin Thakur, from Chilga village in Giridih district. They were riding a motorcycle when it collided with a gravel-laden truck traveling from Domchanch towards Koderma.
According to police reports, the bike attempted to overtake the truck but got stuck and became entangled in the truck's undercarriage. The truck then dragged the motorcycle and both riders for approximately 100 meters, leading to fatal injuries.
Police Response and Investigation
Law enforcement authorities swiftly responded to the scene. Police have seized the truck involved in the accident and taken both the driver and the assistant driver into custody for questioning.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. A formal case has been registered, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
