KS Eshwarappa Skips BSY Event, Cites Family Trip

Shivamogga: Former deputy chief minister KS Eshwarappa, who played a significant role in former chief minister BS Yediyurappa's political journey, on Saturday skipped the BSY Abhimanotsava in Chitradurga — an event organised to mark Yediyurappa's 50-year milestone in politics.

Despite a personal visit and invitation from Yediyurappa's son, MP BY Raghavendra, Eshwarappa chose to go ahead with a long-planned family trip to Jagannath Puri.

Raghavendra's Visit and Eshwarappa's Response

Raghavendra visited my house on Friday morning and invited me to attend the Abhimanotsava programme celebrating BSY's 50 years in politics. However, I am leaving for Jagannath Puri on Saturday with my entire family. A total of 18 of us — including my four daughters, sons-in-law, son, daughter-in-law, and my wife — are travelling together, Eshwarappa said.

We had scheduled this trip two months ago, keeping the children's school holidays in mind. Therefore, I am unable to attend Yediyurappa's programme. I have informed Raghavendra and conveyed my best wishes for the success of the event, he added.

Upcoming Gaushala Inauguration

Meanwhile, Eshwarappa said that a new gaushala (cow shelter) will be inaugurated at Kachanagatta, near Shivamogga, on May 15. The Malnad Gidda breed of cow will also be handed over during the event, which will be held in the presence of religious leader Raghaveshwara Bharathi.
