Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Intensifies Crackdown on Illegal Constructions

In a decisive move to curb unauthorized building activities, the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC) has sealed an illegal construction spanning 600 square yards in Manna Singh Nagar. This action is part of an ongoing campaign against violations of building bylaws across the city.

Simultaneous Action in Piru Banda Area

Further tightening its grip, the civic body has also intervened in the Piru Banda locality near Salem Tabri, where construction of an illegal colony was underway. Officials from MC's building branch confirmed that the colony was being developed on approximately 2,200 square yards of land without proper approvals.

The construction work at this site has been immediately halted, and the property owner has been instructed to produce all relevant documents for scrutiny. This dual-pronged action underscores the MC's commitment to enforcing urban planning regulations.

Commissioner's Directives Drive the Crackdown

The operations were carried out under the direct supervision of Municipal Commissioner Neeru Katyal Gupta. The building branch of MC Zone A office executed these measures, reflecting a top-down approach to governance and compliance.

Officials emphasized that the sealed construction in Manna Singh Nagar was proceeding in blatant disregard of established building bylaws, necessitating its closure. Similarly, the Piru Banda project lacked the mandatory approvals, prompting swift intervention.

Appeal to Residents and Warning Against Violations

In light of these incidents, Ludhiana MC authorities have issued a stern appeal to all residents and developers. They urge individuals to secure official approval for building plans from the civic body before commencing any construction work.

Failure to comply will result in stringent actions, including sealing of properties and legal penalties. The civic body's message is clear: adherence to regulations is non-negotiable for maintaining urban order and safety.

This crackdown not only addresses immediate violations but also aims to deter future illegal constructions, ensuring sustainable development in Ludhiana.
