A 37-year-old man was brutally murdered in the early hours of Tuesday at KN Pura in the northeastern part of Mysuru. The victim, identified as Mohammed Umar of Ghousia Nagar, was asleep around 5 am when his head was smashed with a large boulder. Police have launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the assailants.
Victim's Background
Umar earned a living by performing menial jobs and often lived on the streets. He worked as a cook and also took up odd jobs, including construction work, to support himself. Despite his irregular lifestyle, he was known to wake up early every morning regardless of how late he slept the previous night.
Possible Motive
Investigators believe that Umar was murdered by his friends who lived with him, over financial matters. Sources told police that the victim was seen quarrelling with a group of three individuals the previous night regarding money. Old enmity is also suspected as a possible motive, according to sources.
Investigation Underway
The Udayagiri police have taken up the case and are conducting a thorough investigation. They are searching for the assailants and have questioned several individuals.
