Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Launches Scathing Attack on Congress and SAD Over Education Neglect

In a fiery address at a state-level function in Adampur, Jalandhar, on Tuesday, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched a sharp and unrelenting attack on the Congress and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD). He accused both political parties of systematically neglecting education and the impoverished during their respective tenures in power.

Mann Accuses Rivals of Deliberate Educational Denial

Speaking on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Mann asserted that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government is actively reversing this legacy of neglect. "The AAP government is prioritizing education and women's financial empowerment to realize Babasaheb's vision of dignity and equal opportunity," he declared. Mann alleged that Congress and SAD had ensured the "systematic denial of education to the poor," describing it as a deliberate political strategy that crushed generations of Dalit youth while scholarship funds meant for their upliftment were siphoned off.

Education as the Key to Poverty Alleviation

Highlighting his administration's focus, Mann emphasized that education is the cornerstone for tackling poverty. "No freebie or concession can eliminate poverty... education is the key that can pull people out of this vicious circle," he stated. He stressed that in alignment with Ambedkar's philosophy, his government has taken path-breaking initiatives to transform lives through educational empowerment.

Criticism of Former CM Parkash Singh Badal

Taking a direct swipe at former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Mann claimed that rather than empowering people through quality education, the Badals ensured that students from poor backgrounds remained confined to schemes like Atta Dal. He also defended the ‘Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana’, stating that critics who spend over ₹5,000 per meal do not understand the value of ₹1,000 for common people.

Call for Women's Empowerment and Public Participation

Mann strongly encouraged greater participation of women in public life, urging girls to come forward and empower themselves through education. He emphasized that women must play a larger role in decision-making processes to foster societal progress.

Further Attacks on Congress and Health Scheme Appeal

Continuing his criticism, Mann labeled the Congress as a "divided house" with no clear vision for Punjab's future. He also appealed to citizens to enroll under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, which offers cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh, highlighting his government's commitment to healthcare accessibility.

Vaisakhi Greetings and Cultural Heritage

Extending Vaisakhi greetings, Mann reflected on the occasion as a celebration of Punjab's rich cultural heritage, underscoring the state's vibrant traditions and community spirit.
