A massive fire erupted in Faridabad's Jawahar Colony late Tuesday night, completely destroying five vehicles. According to eyewitnesses, the blaze started around 11:30 PM from a parked car and quickly spread to adjacent vehicles due to the presence of flammable materials.
Firefighters Battle Blaze for Hours
Upon receiving information, fire tenders from the Faridabad Fire Department rushed to the spot. It took firefighters nearly three hours to bring the situation under control. The intense heat made it difficult for them to approach the vehicles initially. Cooling operations continued for another hour to prevent re-ignition.
No Casualties Reported
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. Residents of the colony were evacuated as a precautionary measure. The police have cordoned off the area and are investigating the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit might have triggered the blaze.
Affected Vehicles: The gutted vehicles include three cars and two motorcycles. Their owners have been identified and are being assisted by local authorities. Insurance companies have been notified for assessment of damages.
This incident has raised concerns about fire safety in the densely populated colony. Local residents have demanded better fire safety measures and regular checks on electrical wiring. The Faridabad Municipal Corporation has assured a thorough inquiry and necessary action to prevent such incidents in the future.
