Mohali deputy commissioner-cum-district election officer Komal Mittal has announced that eight counting centers have been established for the counting of votes cast during the local bodies elections held on May 26. The elections were conducted for the Municipal Corporation of Mohali and the municipal councils of Zirakpur, Derabassi, Lalru, Banur, Nayagaon, and Kurali.
Providing details of the arrangements, Mittal stated that the counting process will be conducted under CCTV surveillance and with fool-proof security arrangements. Only authorized persons will be permitted entry into the counting centers to ensure transparency and accountability during the counting process.
The deputy commissioner further mentioned that a rehearsal regarding the counting arrangements will be conducted at all designated venues on May 28 at 10 AM. The counting of votes will commence at 8 AM on May 29.
Mittal added that all returning officers have been directed to strictly follow the instructions issued by the State Election Commission, Punjab, to ensure a transparent and fair counting process. The district police has also been directed to maintain strict law and order during the counting process and ensure that no unauthorized person is allowed near the counting centers.
She appealed to all candidates to appoint their counting agents with proper identification documents after coordinating with their respective returning officers.

- Municipal Council, Banur: Office of Market Committee, Banur
- Municipal Council, Kurali: Community Hall, Office of Municipal Council, Kurali
- Municipal Council, Nayagaon: Century Public School, Karoran, Nayagaon
- Municipal Council, Zirakpur: Community Centre, Chatt
- Municipal Council, Dera Bassi: Government College, Dera Bassi
- Municipal Council, Lalru: Government Senior Secondary School, Lalru
- Municipal Corporation, Mohali (Wards 1 to 25): Community Centre, Phase 7, Mohali
- Municipal Corporation, Mohali (Wards 26 to 50): Community Centre, Sector 69, Mohali
