Madhya Pradesh CM Unveils Plan to Develop Chandrashekhar Azad Heritage Sites

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh declared on Friday that locations connected to the legendary freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad will be transformed into prominent tourist destinations. This initiative includes the creation of a grand park named after Azad in Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar, situated within the Alirajpur district.

Tribute on Martyrdom Day at Bhabhra Birthplace

During a visit to Bhabhra, the birthplace of Chandrashekhar Azad, on his martyrdom day, CM Yadav paid heartfelt tributes to the revolutionary hero. He emphasized the state government's dedication to safeguarding the heritage of tribal luminaries. "The state government is committed to preserving the heritage of tribal great personalities," Yadav stated. "Sites associated with Chandrashekhar Azad and other heroes will be developed so that future generations remain connected to their legacy."

Broader Efforts to Honor Tribal Icons

Yadav highlighted ongoing efforts to commemorate other tribal figures, noting that a university has already been established in Khargone in the name of Tantya Bhil. Similar projects are in progress for other icons, underscoring a comprehensive approach to celebrating the state's rich historical and cultural contributions.

Infrastructure Development and Project Inaugurations

In addition to the heritage announcements, the Chief Minister inaugurated 14 projects with a total value of Rs 79.92 crore. He also performed the bhoomi-pujan (groundbreaking ceremony) for 35 works costing Rs 119.01 crore. These initiatives span across Alirajpur district and include:

  • School buildings
  • Hostels
  • Bridges
  • Health centres

This dual focus on heritage preservation and infrastructure development aims to boost tourism and enhance local amenities, fostering both cultural pride and economic growth in the region.
