Madhya Pradesh Pioneers Rolling Budget for 2026-27, Eyes Prosperous Future

In a landmark move, Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in India to present a rolling budget for the fiscal year 2026-27, with Chief Minister Dr. Yadav hailing it as a crucial step towards fulfilling the dream of a prosperous, happy, and developed state. The budget, presented in the Vidhansabha, sets a development benchmark for the 'Amrit Kaal' leading up to 2047, emphasizing growth without imposing new tax burdens on citizens.

Key Financial Highlights and Growth Projections

The state government's budget outlines a robust economic framework, with the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) estimated at ₹18,48,274 crore for FY 2026-27, reflecting an impressive growth rate of 10.69 per cent compared to the previous year. This growth is supported by a total budget outlay of ₹4,38,317 crore, which has been strategically allocated to drive development across various sectors.

No new tax burden has been introduced this year, continuing the policy from the last fiscal year to provide relief to residents and businesses. This decision underscores the government's commitment to fostering a conducive economic environment while prioritizing public welfare.

Focus on Welfare and Development Initiatives

Adequate funds have been earmarked for every welfare scheme, ensuring that social programs reach all sections of society effectively. The budget aims to enhance infrastructure, healthcare, education, and rural development, aligning with the long-term vision of making Madhya Pradesh a model state in India.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, in his reaction to the budget, emphasized that this financial plan is not just about numbers but about building a foundation for sustainable growth. He stated, "This budget is a testament to our resolve to create a developed Madhya Pradesh, where every citizen can thrive in an era of prosperity."

The rolling budget approach allows for greater flexibility and responsiveness to changing economic conditions, setting a precedent for other states to follow. As Madhya Pradesh strides towards its development goals, this budget is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the state's future trajectory.
