Mysuru Minister Pushes for Public Welfare Schemes in State Budget

District Minister HC Mahadevappa gave clear instructions to officials on Monday. He told them to prepare detailed proposals for schemes based on public needs. These proposals should go into the state budget. Mahadevappa believes well-detailed plans will help ensure their inclusion. This step will enable steady development across the district.

Focus on Hostel Facilities and Infrastructure

The minister chaired a meeting with district-level officers. They reviewed departmental progress and discussed budget preparations. Mahadevappa specifically instructed officials from backward classes and minority welfare departments. He asked them to submit details about new hostels required. Proposals for constructing permanent buildings for existing hostels are also needed.

He stressed a key priority. Providing hostel facilities to all eligible applicants must happen. The meeting also covered other important topics. They talked about the large number of outsourced staff in ashram schools. Recruitment-related issues came up for discussion. Officials highlighted the need to establish skill-based training centers. These centers should serve tribal communities in HD Kote, Periyapatna, and Hunsur taluks.

Addressing Transportation and Educational Needs

Mahadevappa pointed out a concerning fact. Only 390 KSRTC buses have operated in Mysuru city for the past fifteen years. The population has grown significantly during this time. He said there is a clear need for additional buses and depots. Officials received instructions to submit detailed proposals on this matter.

The minister emphasized another critical point. Students from minority communities should not face deprivation of education. He directed officials to prepare comprehensive reports. These reports should cover the requirement of residential schools. They should also include coaching for competitive examinations. Other welfare schemes need proper documentation too.

Hierarchical Approach to Problem Solving

Mahadevappa noted an important distinction during the meeting. Some issues discussed could get addressed at the level of respective departmental ministers. Matters requiring budgetary support would follow a different path. These would come to the attention of the chief minister directly.

District Officials Present Their Plans

Deputy Commissioner G Lakshmikant Reddy made a specific request. He urged officials to submit consolidated reports on essential district-level projects. These reports should reach his office at the earliest possible time.

Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif spoke about various plans. He mentioned projects related to solid waste management. Underground drainage systems formed part of the discussion. Public swimming pools and improving pedestrian facilities on city roads also featured in his presentation.

Zilla Panchayat CEO S Ukesh Kumar attended the meeting. His presence ensured proper coordination between different administrative levels.
