Nagpur Extends Private Bus Ban in Inner Ring Road to Alleviate Traffic Congestion

The extension order, issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Lohit Matani, will remain effective from March 13, 2026, to March 12, 2027. During this period, private travel buses are strictly prohibited from picking up or dropping off passengers, as well as parking, within the Inner Ring Road limits between the hours of 8am and 10pm. This measure is designed to target peak traffic times, thereby minimizing disruptions and optimizing road usage for all vehicles.

The traffic department has conducted thorough assessments to identify key areas where unauthorized pick-up and drop activities have exacerbated congestion. Notable locations include CA Road, Cotton Market, Variety Chowk, Wardha Road, and Amravati Road, among other busy zones.
