Nagpur LPG Supply Crisis Intensifies as Booking Systems Fail Repeatedly
Nagpur is grappling with a severe domestic LPG cylinder shortage that has entered its second week, leaving residents struggling with daily cooking needs. Across the city, consumers report repeated booking failures and delivery delays extending up to seven days, highlighting a deepening supply crisis.
Booking Systems Collapse Under Pressure
The situation reached a critical point for Trimbak Lakde, a resident of Bajrang Nagar, who made 36 unsuccessful calls attempting to book a domestic LPG refill. Despite the mandatory 25-day gap since his last booking on January 27 having passed, the system consistently rejects his requests citing technical issues. "I have been trying since last Saturday without a single success," Lakde revealed, encapsulating the frustration felt by many.
Kishor Nagpurkar from Durga Nagar encountered similar obstacles when his repeated booking calls failed over two days. When he visited his gas agency office for assistance, he found it closed due to a weekly holiday. "My last booking was in December, and I'm surprised that even after nearly three months, the system won't accept my request," Nagpurkar stated, emphasizing the prolonged nature of the problem.
Confirmed Bookings Bring No Relief
Even consumers who manage to navigate the broken booking systems face significant delivery delays. Vijay Chimurkar of Hanuman Nagar received an OTP confirmation after booking on March 12, but five days later his cylinder remains undelivered. Agency representatives offered vague assurances that delivery would occur "soon" without providing concrete timelines.
Pramod Kahate from Medical Square shares this predicament, having booked a refill on March 10 with no delivery in sight. "There's no clear timeline when we might receive our cylinder," Kahate explained, highlighting the uncertainty plaguing households.
Agency Responses Fail to Address Core Issues
Radha Moklawar of Jagnade Square visited her agency office after her household ran out of gas two days ago and repeated booking attempts failed. Agency staff could not confirm when her request would be processed, leaving her without cooking fuel and clear information. "We're told to wait, but without knowing how long," Moklawar expressed, reflecting the communication breakdown exacerbating the crisis.
The supply disruption has created significant hardship across Nagpur as residents:
- Experience repeated technical failures in booking systems
- Face agency closures during critical periods
- Receive confirmed bookings without timely deliveries
- Lack clear communication about resolution timelines
With supply chains yet to stabilize, Nagpur citizens continue hoping for clarity and improvement in the LPG situation that has disrupted their daily lives for multiple weeks.
