Naidu Launches Scathing Attack on YSRCP Over Land Law Misuse and Revenue Chaos
In a fiery address on Monday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu unleashed a blistering critique of the previous YSRCP government, accusing it of plunging the state's revenue department into disarray and exploiting land legislation to target farmers. The Chief Minister detailed a series of alleged administrative failures and corruption, while outlining his government's corrective measures and development initiatives.
Allegations of Land Law Abuse and Revenue Department Disarray
Naidu asserted that the former YSRCP regime had arbitrarily placed a staggering 1.95 crore acres of land under Section 22A, a move he characterized as an attempt to undermine property rights. He further accused the administration of attempting to seize private lands through the controversial Land Titling Act.
"My government scrapped this draconian Act immediately after assuming office," Naidu declared, emphasizing his administration's commitment to protecting landowners. He announced that the state is now issuing error-free land pattas (title deeds) utilizing advanced QR codes and blockchain-based security safeguards to prevent tampering and ensure transparency.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that not a single rupee is being charged for the new digital passbooks. Furthermore, his government is actively replacing faulty records found in 19.93 lakh passbooks issued during the previous tenure, rectifying what he described as systemic errors.
Accusations of Widespread Corruption and Restoration of Order
Expanding his criticism beyond land issues, Naidu targeted the YSRCP's overall governance. He alleged large-scale corruption within the excise department and even claimed there was adulteration of ghee used in the preparation of the sacred Tirumala laddus, a serious charge given the religious significance.
Naidu also pointed to a resurgence of factional violence across the Rayalaseema region under the previous administration. "We have restored peace by proactively reconciling rival groups," he stated, adding that a comprehensive clean-up operation is now underway across all government departments to root out malpractice and inefficiency.
Development Highlights and Future Vision for Andhra Pradesh
Shifting focus to his government's achievements and plans, Naidu highlighted the completion of major irrigation projects initiated by former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao. These include the Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, SRBC, and Telugu Ganga projects, which have now enabled water supply to 30 tanks in the Dhone region.
A key vision is to transform Rayalaseema into a premier horticulture hub. The government plans to provide subsidies for mango growers and improve their access to both national and international markets, boosting the agricultural economy.
On the industrial front, Naidu revealed that major investments are flowing into the state, including the development of a Drone City in Kurnool and an Aerospace City in Anantapur. He reassured citizens that power tariffs will not be increased and announced that essential public services are now being efficiently delivered through WhatsApp for greater citizen convenience.
In a push for women's economic empowerment, the government has already facilitated one lakh women entrepreneurs under MSME schemes and is planning to encourage an additional five lakh women to embark on entrepreneurial ventures.
Coalition Government's Mandate and Focus
Concluding his address, Naidu reiterated that the current coalition government, formed with a clear public mandate, is singularly focused on restoring Andhra Pradesh's past glory. "Our priority is unwavering public welfare and systematically correcting the administrative distortions inflicted by the previous regime," he affirmed, positioning his administration as a corrective force dedicated to transparent and progressive governance.
