Naidu Vows Krishna Waters for Nagari by 2029, Unveils Projects

CM Naidu Announces Major Water and Development Push for Nagari Constituency

In a significant announcement during the Swarna Andhra-Swachh Andhra programme at Nagari on Saturday, Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has made a firm commitment to bring Krishna waters to the Nagari constituency before the 2029 general elections. This pledge marks a crucial step in addressing the region's irrigation and water supply needs, which have long been a concern for local residents.

Launch of Development Works and Swachh Andhra Initiative

On the sidelines of the event, the Chief Minister launched development works worth ₹573 crore, underscoring his administration's focus on infrastructure and public welfare. Reflecting on his political journey, Naidu recalled launching the innovative Janmabhoomi initiative during his first tenure as chief minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh state, highlighting his continued dedication to grassroots development.

Naidu emphasized that Swachh Andhra should not be viewed merely as a government programme but as a fundamental way of life for citizens. He pointed out that the previous YSRCP government left behind approximately one crore tonnes of legacy waste, which his administration aims to clear completely by March of the coming year. To bolster these efforts, the CM flagged off 'Swachh Rathas' (sanitation vehicles) and distributed 200 e-autos along with 12,000 tricycles for efficient waste collection across various panchayats.

Waste-to-Energy Plants and Criticism of Previous Regime

In a move towards sustainable waste management, Naidu announced that four Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model waste-to-energy plants located in Kurnool, Rajamahendravaram, Kadapa, and Nellore are set to commence production within the next two years. These facilities are expected to significantly reduce landfill waste while generating clean energy.

The Chief Minister did not hold back in his criticism of the previous YSRCP government, labeling their rule as "demonic" and accusing them of systematically ruining the state's irrigation systems. He also highlighted how the Land Titling Act created widespread insecurity among the populace. Naidu credited the current NDA government with protecting public assets by repealing this controversial legislation, restoring confidence in property rights.

Economic Relief and Development Promises

In a bid to provide economic relief to citizens, the Chief Minister assured that electricity charges would not be increased under his administration. He revealed that the government is absorbing ₹4,600 crore in true-up charges to alleviate the financial burden on households and businesses alike.

Reaffirming his commitment to the state's development, Naidu declared that the progress of the capital city Amaravati is "unstoppable," despite previous attempts to hinder its growth. He praised 17 municipal bodies, including major cities like Visakhapatnam and Tirupati, for achieving complete plastic-free status, setting an example for environmental stewardship.

Educational and Environmental Initiatives

Looking towards the future, the Chief Minister introduced the 'Mustabu' programme for schools, designed to instill discipline and hygiene practices among students from a young age. Additionally, he announced the establishment of 30 e-waste collection points across Andhra Pradesh, addressing the growing challenge of electronic waste management in the digital age.

These comprehensive announcements reflect the Naidu administration's multifaceted approach to governance, combining infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, economic relief, and educational reform to build a stronger, cleaner, and more prosperous Andhra Pradesh.
