CM Naidu Issues Stern Warning to MLAs Over Indiscipline and Irresponsible Behavior
In a firm address, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday cautioned legislators from the ruling coalition to maintain restraint and act with responsibility. The warning came in response to a recent incident in Narasaraopet, where local MLA Chadalavada Aravind Babu created a disturbance at the Superintendent of Police office, prompting Naidu to emphasize that such indiscipline will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Public Meeting in Nellore District Highlights Concerns Over MLA Conduct
Speaking at a public gathering in Vinjamuru, Nellore district, after distributing pensions, Naidu expressed concern that some MLAs were "losing control" and advised them to practice meditation if they were experiencing stress. Without naming specific individuals, he directed, "What does it mean to attack offices? Change your approach." He further remarked that certain MLAs appear to be watching too many crime serials, cautioning, "Do not spoil your mind by watching crime serials and lose control."
Welfare Initiatives and Pension Spending in Andhra Pradesh
Highlighting the government's commitment to welfare, Naidu detailed the Pedala Sevalo initiative, implemented on the first of every month, which includes schemes like Thalliki Vandanam and Deepam 2.0. He noted that Andhra Pradesh spends approximately Rs 2,750 crore monthly on pensions, a figure significantly higher than neighboring Tamil Nadu. Additionally, he announced plans for free LPG cylinders and piped gas to households, with an annual subsidy of Rs 2,400 to be credited directly to beneficiaries' accounts.
Industrial Growth and Job Creation in Nellore District
Turning to economic development, Naidu underscored industrial growth in Nellore district, citing key projects such as the Ramayapatnam port, Dugarajapatnam shipbuilding centre, and solar manufacturing units. These initiatives are projected to generate around 80,000 jobs, boosting local employment and economic stability. He also addressed misinformation surrounding the Juvvaladinne fishing harbour, labeling it as "hit-and-run politics" and clarifying that the proposal dates back to 2018, with execution costs estimated at Rs 285 crore.
Overall, Naidu's address balanced a stern message on political discipline with a focus on welfare and industrial progress, reinforcing the government's dual priorities in Andhra Pradesh.
