Narinder Singh Manso takes charge as Kapurthala Mayor

Narinder Singh Manso officially assumed the office of Mayor of the Kapurthala Municipal Corporation on Friday, in a ceremony attended by Punjab Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal. Kamakshi Duggal and Sameer Sharma were also sworn in as Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively.

Manso outlines priorities: transparency, cleanliness, and citizen-centric administration

After taking charge, Manso expressed his gratitude to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party leadership for placing their trust in him. He pledged to discharge his responsibilities with dedication, honesty, and commitment, ensuring a transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric administration in the Municipal Corporation. Manso stated that serving the people and promptly addressing public grievances would be his foremost priority. He added that the corporation would work to provide residents with modern civic infrastructure and improved public amenities.

Focus on making Kapurthala a model garbage-free city

Describing cleanliness as a key priority, the newly elected Mayor said he would make every effort to transform Kapurthala into a garbage-free model city through efficient waste management and improved civic services. He also asserted that corruption and inefficiency in service delivery would not be tolerated, warning that strict action would be taken against anyone found indulging in corrupt practices.

Government support and development funds assured

Congratulating the newly elected Mayor and his team, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said the Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is working continuously to realise its vision of a 'Rangla Punjab' through all-round development across the state. Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal expressed confidence that Manso, along with the Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor, would work with dedication to accelerate the city's development and improve civic amenities for residents. He assured that the Punjab Government would provide the necessary funds for the development of the heritage city.

Among those present on the occasion were District Planning Board Chairman Sarbjeet Singh Lubana, Sultanpur Lodhi Halka in-charge Sajjan Singh Cheema, Kapurthala Halka in-charge Advocate Karambir Singh Chandi, senior AAP leader Parvinder Singh Dhot, as well as councillors and other district dignitaries.
