Corporators have reported widespread issues including irregular and inadequate water supply, critically low pressure, and complete absence of tap water in numerous neighborhoods. The problem stems from several elevated service reservoirs operating at only half capacity, which directly results in insufficient pressure throughout the distribution network. Consequently, thousands of residents have been forced to depend on water tankers for their daily needs, creating significant inconvenience and highlighting systemic failures in the city's water management infrastructure.

The water crisis dominated discussions during the Nashik Municipal Corporation general body meeting held on Monday, where members engaged in heated debates for over two hours. Participants expressed serious concerns regarding the functioning of the civic body's water supply department and unanimously called for prompt corrective measures. Mayor Himgauri Aher responded by directing senior water supply officials to urgently restore normal distribution across all six municipal divisions. She additionally ordered an immediate increase in tanker deployment to ensure water reaches affected areas until the system stabilizes completely.
Specific Ward Issues and Historical Context
BJP corporator Priyanka Mane highlighted that Ward 3 in the Panchavati division has been experiencing acute water shortages for more than a month. "Residents are receiving water at very low pressure, and in some locations, muddy water is being supplied through the taps. The department must develop a comprehensive plan and guarantee adequate supply to all households," she emphasized during the meeting. Corporator Suvarna Matale noted that the water situation deteriorated significantly following the recent shutdown, explaining that supply was relatively smooth for only about one month after the municipal elections. "Areas including Bandavane Nagar and Shanti Nagar are not receiving any water at all, and the current tanker supply remains insufficient to meet the growing demand," she stated.
