Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Key Infrastructure Projects in Patna
Patna Chief Minister Nitish Kumar carried out a detailed on-site inspection of four major infrastructure initiatives in the city's New Capital area on Thursday. The projects, which were originally announced during his Pragati Yatra last year, focus on enhancing urban infrastructure with modern drainage and road systems.
Spot Inspection of Underground Drainage and Road Works
During the inspection, CM Kumar examined the construction of two underground drainage networks along with the four-lane roads being built above them. These critical developments are situated between the Patel Roundabout and Atal Path, located near the two Eco Parks that serve as green lungs for the city.
The first drainage project spans from Patel Chowk to the western boundary of Eco Park, while the second extends from the eastern end of Eco Park to Atal Path. Both segments are designed to include robust four-lane roads constructed directly over the drainage infrastructure, aiming to improve traffic flow and water management simultaneously.
Progress Updates and Official Briefings
Officials present at the site provided the chief minister with comprehensive updates on the current status of the works. They reported that construction activities from Patel Chowk to the western edge of Eco Park are actively progressing. Significant milestones have already been achieved, including the completion of sheet piling and slush removal operations. Furthermore, sand piling work has now commenced, marking a forward step in the project timeline.
CM's Directive for Timely Completion
Emphasizing the importance of adhering to schedules, CM Nitish Kumar instructed the concerned officials to ensure that both the drainage systems and the road segments are finished within the stipulated deadlines. His directive underscores the government's commitment to delivering infrastructure improvements efficiently and effectively for the benefit of Patna's residents.
These projects represent a strategic effort to address urban challenges in Patna, combining environmental considerations with transportation upgrades. The integration of underground drainage with multi-lane roads is expected to mitigate flooding risks while enhancing connectivity in the rapidly developing New Capital zone.
