The initiatives were rolled out during his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra, with the CM emphasizing that promoting industrial activities and equipping youths with skills for self-reliance remain core government objectives.

Massive Investment in Infrastructure and Welfare Schemes

From the campus of the Government Engineering College at Sarairanjan, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar remotely inaugurated the projects, which include a diverse mix of infrastructure and social welfare schemes. The package comprises:

  • Foundation stones for 71 new schemes worth Rs 470 crore
  • Inauguration of 74 completed schemes costing Rs 273 crore
  • Commencement of work on 43 ongoing schemes involving Rs 84 crore

During a public address at the Housing Board Maidan in Samastipur as part of a jan samvad program, the CM reiterated his administration's commitment to fostering industrial growth across all districts. He stated, "The government is working diligently to provide necessary facilities for industrial establishment throughout Bihar. Our primary aim is to promote industrial activities while ensuring that our youth acquire valuable skills and become self-reliant."

Focus on Education and Financial Inclusion

The Chief Minister's visit also highlighted educational advancements and financial empowerment initiatives. He inaugurated the Amenity Bhavan at the Government Engineering College and inspected the administrative block's first floor. During a tour of the institute, CM Kumar visited the language department where students receive training in international languages, with girl students welcoming him in French and English.

In a major boost to financial inclusion, the CM distributed cheques worth Rs 437 crore with bank linkage for loan disbursement to 23,472 self-help groups on the engineering college campus. He also handed out cheques to beneficiaries of various social sector schemes, demonstrating the government's multifaceted approach to development.

Agricultural Innovation and Startup Promotion

The event featured interactive sessions with agricultural experts and showcased local entrepreneurial talent. CM Kumar engaged with representatives from the Borlaug Institute for South Asia, discussing new agricultural products and models for multiple-crop farming. Exhibitions by local startups were prominently displayed, highlighting the district's emerging innovation ecosystem.

Review of Ongoing Development Projects

During a review meeting, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar sought detailed updates on the progress of ongoing schemes and implementation of projects announced during his Pragati Yatra last year. These included critical infrastructure works such as road widening and strengthening, construction of RCC bridges, and bypass road development.

The CM conducted an on-the-spot inspection of an RCC bridge and bypass road under construction in Habimabad block, demonstrating his hands-on approach to monitoring development projects.

The event saw participation from key government officials including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Water Resources Department Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit, DGP Vinay Kumar, IT and Technical Education Secretary Anupama, along with the CM's personal secretaries and other senior officials.
