Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday reviewed the ongoing paddy procurement for the rabi season with MLAs from Sambalpur and Bargarh districts. The meeting was aimed at identifying and removing bottlenecks in the procurement process to ensure smooth operations.
Key Issues Discussed
During the review, several critical issues were discussed in detail, including the state of mandi infrastructure, the distribution of tokens to farmers, and the timely lifting of paddy by millers. The chief minister emphasized that procurement is currently underway across Odisha and stressed that farmers should not face any inconvenience at any stage of the process.
Directives to Officials
Majhi directed district collectors to provide all necessary facilities at procurement centres and assured that farmers' grievances would be addressed promptly. He specifically instructed officials to ensure that millers lift the procured paddy without any delay, thereby preventing congestion and storage issues at procurement points.
