A tragic road accident occurred on Monday night on the Pithoragarh-Jhulaghat road, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to three others. The victims were returning from a wedding function when their car veered off the road and plunged into a deep gorge.

The deceased has been identified as Lakky Bhandari, 22, who died on the spot. The injured individuals include the driver Jagdish Singh, 40, Mohan Singh, 40, and Sachin Chand, 22. All three were rushed to the district hospital in Pithoragarh for medical treatment.
Rescue Operation
According to Jhulaghat SHO Sanjeev Kumar, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to fall approximately 100 metres into the gorge. A passing motorcyclist noticed the accident and alerted the police. Soon after, local police and rescue teams arrived at the scene and conducted a rescue operation to retrieve the victims.
