The Panchkula Municipal Corporation is witnessing significant progress on a wide array of development projects sanctioned by its Finance and Contracts Committee (F&CC). These initiatives, spanning village roads, drainage systems, community centres, and Smart City components, are actively moving forward across the city and its adjoining villages.
Mayor's Review and Project Vision
Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal recently conducted a comprehensive review of the status and execution plans with municipal officials. He emphasized that the core objective of these proposals is to strengthen basic civic amenities and elevate the quality of life, particularly in the village areas and peripheral sectors of Panchkula. While construction has commenced on several fronts, other projects are currently in phases of technical approval, evaluation, and tendering.
Key Village-Level Infrastructure Updates
A major focus of the development drive is on village infrastructure. Several high-value projects are in the pipeline:

Sector-Wise Developments and Smart City Initiatives
Development is not limited to villages. Key sector-level works are also progressing:
The proposal for redevelopment in Sector 6 was dropped. However, road repair works have begun in Bhaisa Tibba (Ward 1) costing ₹64.99 lakh, and in Saketari village (Ward 1) for ₹164.59 lakh.
Under the Divya Yojana, a major ₹9.9 crore project to replace conventional street lights with LED fixtures is underway. The work on the city's main roads is targeted for completion by December 31, 2025, with remaining sectors expected to be covered by January 31 next year.
Other notable projects include the construction of a Harijan chaupal in Haripur village (Sector 4) (₹121.87 lakh, under technical approval), and a ₹2.15 crore rainwater drainage project in Sector 19, where the railway portion will be executed by the Railways.
Upcoming Inaugurations and Tenders
The civic body has a series of inaugurations and tender processes lined up, indicating continuous momentum:
- The community centre building in Sector 19 is scheduled for inauguration next week.
- The tender for the ₹99.8 lakh pond rejuvenation project in Saketari village will be opened on December 19.
