Maharashtra Minister Reveals Paratwada Exploitation Case Nearing Critical Conclusion
State Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister for Amravati district, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, declared on Friday that the ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the disturbing Paratwada exploitation case is approaching a pivotal phase. Speaking to journalists in Kolhapur, Bawankule indicated that the final findings concerning the luring and sexual exploitation of young women would likely yield a "different" conclusion than what is currently being speculated in public discourse, though he refrained from providing specific details at this juncture.
Substantial Evidence Gathered in SIT Investigation
The case involves allegations of young women being lured and sexually exploited, with acts reportedly recorded without their consent. "I am closely monitoring the SIT investigation in my capacity as the guardian minister. To date, eight mobile phones have been seized, and substantial evidence has been collected. We anticipate receiving forensic analysis results within the next three days, which will significantly clarify the 'where and how' aspects of these crimes," Bawankule stated emphatically.
Minister Issues Stern Warning Against Communalizing the Tragedy
In a firm appeal, Minister Bawankule cautioned against attempts to communalize this tragic incident. He urged public figures and community leaders to abstain from identifying the victims by their religious affiliation, emphasizing that such statements could potentially jeopardize the integrity of the SIT probe. "While the investigation remains active, no individual should make public declarations regarding the religious identity of the victims. Whether it involves Pyare Khan or any other person, there must be no rush to assert such claims," he added.
According to the SIT's preliminary findings, the primary accused is alleged to have lured the women and recorded the acts, while seven other accomplices were found in possession of the videos and responsible for their viral dissemination. These comments follow earlier claims made by Pyare Khan, Chairman of the Maharashtra State Minority Commission, concerning the community background of the victims.
Bawankule Comments on Upcoming MLC Elections and Alliance Dynamics
Shifting focus to the political arena, Bawankule addressed the upcoming Maharashtra Legislative Council (MLC) elections for nine seats scheduled for May 12. He remarked on the apparent lack of cohesion within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and suggested that the ruling coalition might permit an unopposed election for the seat allocated to the opposition, provided the candidate is deemed "acceptable" to all parties.
"There was previously a consensus over Sharad Pawar's nomination for the Rajya Sabha. We will need to observe whether the MVA proposes a candidate for the MLC seat who is acceptable to all political entities, including those currently in power. If such a scenario materializes, the nominee could potentially be elected unopposed," Bawankule elaborated.
Major Reforms Announced for Maharashtra Revenue Department
In a significant development, Minister Bawankule announced sweeping reforms within the state's revenue department, aimed at bringing essential services directly to citizens' doorsteps within six months. Following the successful implementation of digital 7/12 extracts, the Maharashtra government now plans to mandate a formal land survey, known as 'mojani', prior to any land dealings or mutations.
To expedite this process, the administration has appointed 50 private surveyors for each of the state's 36 districts. "These appointed surveyors have been specifically tasked with ensuring that the mojani process is completed within 15 days of an application being formally filed," Bawankule confirmed, highlighting the government's commitment to streamlining bureaucratic procedures and enhancing public service delivery.
