A 26-year-old cement and iron rod businessman allegedly died by suicide after shooting himself inside his car in Dariyapur village under Naubatpur police station in Patna district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Vikas Kumar, a resident of Pathani Nathpur under Beur police station area.
Incident Details
According to police, Vikas had lunch with his uncle at his shop before allegedly shooting himself around 3 pm. Locals alerted police after noticing the incident. Police broke open the car window and recovered a pistol and two mobile phones from the vehicle.
Police Investigation
SDPO Deepak Kumar said, “Prima facie, the case appears to be a suicide.” He added that CCTV footage was being examined and forensic and ballistic experts had been called for investigation. The police are also questioning family members and acquaintances to ascertain the motive behind the extreme step.
Vikas Kumar was reportedly under financial stress, though no suicide note has been found so far. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and further details are awaited.
