Pilibhit Woman Seeks CM Protection Over Land Dispute Harassment

Pilibhit Woman Appeals to CM Yogi Adityanath for Protection Amid Harassment Allegations

A 60-year-old woman from Mishra Colony in Pilibhit's Bhindara village has formally sought protection from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alleging persistent harassment and threats from former BJP district president Sanjiv Pratap Singh and his younger brother, Nishant Pratap Singh, who serves as chairperson of the Bhindara Town Area Committee.

Allegations of Fraudulent Land Deal and Legal Battle

In her complaint uploaded on the CM's official portal, Nand Rani Devi detailed that the dispute originated from a land transaction in February 2017. According to her account, Singh purchased her 0.089-hectare plot (approximately 900 square meters) for Rs 5.69 lakh. She claimed she received a cheque for Rs 5 lakh and the remainder in cash, but the cheque payment never materialized due to insufficient funds in the account.

Devi further alleged that Singh later retrieved the cheque, citing it as time-barred, and promised a fresh cheque that was never issued. This prompted her to file a civil suit in the Pilibhit court of civil judge, junior division, seeking recovery of the amount, with cheque details documented in the sale deed.

Accusations of Forgery and Police Harassment

The woman asserted that Singh submitted a fraudulent payment receipt bearing her forged signatures in court, which she challenged. The case remains under trial. Additionally, Devi claimed that she and her family have been falsely implicated in cases and subjected to police harassment, including physical assaults on her and her husband without justification.

"The police beat me and my husband many times without any fault," she stated in her letter. She also accused Singh of attempting to illegally possess the land in question.

Request for High-Level Inquiry and Political Denial

In her appeal, Devi requested CM Adityanath to provide security for her and her family and called for a thorough investigation into what she described as Singh's "immense wealth and properties acquired by illegal possession and unfair means."

Sanjiv Pratap Singh has denied all allegations, labeling them as "part of a conspiracy to demolish" his and his family's political and social reputation. The situation highlights ongoing tensions in local governance and property disputes in the region.
