PM Modi Predicts BJP Victory in Bengal Elections 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday predicted a victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, stating that the mood of the people in the state strongly suggests a BJP win. Addressing a rally, Modi claimed that the BJP would return to power during the oath-taking ceremony, signaling a shift in the state's political landscape.

Modi launched a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress, accusing it of resorting to abuse and intimidation instead of focusing on governance. He criticized the TMC for failing to address key issues such as development, employment, and law and order, and alleged that the party has prioritized political vendetta over public welfare.

PM Modi's Remarks on Bengal's Political Climate

The prime minister highlighted that the people of Bengal are disillusioned with the current administration and are seeking change. He emphasized that the BJP's vision for development and good governance resonates with the electorate, particularly among the youth and women. Modi also referenced the BJP's performance in recent local body elections as an indicator of the party's growing support base in the state.

Allegations Against TMC

Modi accused the TMC of using abusive language and engaging in violent tactics to suppress dissent. He claimed that the party has created an atmosphere of fear, where opposition voices are silenced through threats and attacks. The prime minister called on the Election Commission to ensure free and fair elections in the state.

The TMC, however, dismissed Modi's claims as baseless and accused the BJP of trying to destabilize the state through divisive politics. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has previously stated that the BJP's reliance on central agencies and rhetoric will not sway Bengal's voters.

The West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026 are expected to be a high-stakes battle between the BJP and the TMC, with both parties gearing up for an intense campaign. Political analysts suggest that the outcome will have significant implications for national politics.
