PM Modi Vows Accountability for 'Maha Jungle Raj' in Bengal at Kolkata Rally
PM Modi Targets TMC's 'Maha Jungle Raj' in Bengal Rally

PM Modi Asserts 'Sabka Hisab Liya Jayega' in Fiery Bengal Rally Address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful speech at the BJP's Brigade Parade Ground rally in Kolkata on Saturday, declaring that "chun-chun ke hisab liya jayega" (one by one, everyone will be held accountable) as he called for a "change" at the state secretariat Nabanna in the upcoming polls.

Campaign Template Laid Out Against Trinamool Congress

In his 49-minute address, PM Modi outlined the BJP's election campaign strategy for West Bengal, a state the party aims to add to its list of spectacular victories since 2014. He accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of creating a "maha jungle raj" (great lawless rule) and vowed that those who flout the law and torture people will not be spared. "The countdown has started for those who have brought maha jungle raj to Bengal. We will make them pay for their crimes. BJP will bring development if voted to office," he asserted.

PM Modi emphasized that intimidation and threats have become TMC's weapons, alleging the party runs with the help of goons. He stated that this "nirmam sarkar" (cruel government) will not be able to stop change this time, claiming BJP has the blessings of Mahishashurmardini (Durga). To counter TMC's narrative of BJP being a "party of outsiders," he invoked Bengal's icons like Rishi Bankim Chandra, Rabindranath Tagore, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, and Swami Vivekananda.

Allegations of Demographic Change and Security Threats

The Prime Minister focused on what he described as a "demographic change happening in Bengal," accusing TMC of playing a role in it. "Bengal's roti, beti and mati (bread, daughter and soil) are under threat now. Their land is being grabbed by infiltrators. The demography of the state has changed and has made Bengal unsafe. Bengali Hindus are being made a minority," he claimed.

He also highlighted security concerns, alleging that criminals have a free run, with cases of rape involving young children and tribal women, and the government protecting rapists. PM Modi linked this to the highest number of acid attacks in Bengal, promising that BJP will make the state safe for women, calling it "PM Modi's guarantee."

Criticism of TMC's Attitude Towards Tribals and Dalits

PM Modi used the recent exchange between the state administration and President Droupadi Murmu to question TMC's "attitude towards tribals." He alleged that Dalits are the most deceived people in West Bengal, citing mismanagement during President Murmu's visit. "Trinamool could never accept a tribal woman in such a high position. It was an insult to thousands of Dalit women and the Indian Constitution. Bengal will give a befitting reply," he said.

He also referenced Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's recent remarks about a community, asking how anyone holding a constitutional position could make such comments. PM Modi attributed TMC's opposition to the SIR of electoral rolls as another example of its "vote-bank politics."

Accusations of Blocking Development and Central Schemes

The Prime Minister slammed TMC for trying to stop people from attending his rally, alleging that vehicles were stopped and bridges blocked. "This crowd reflects the mood of Bengal," he stated, accusing the administration of cursing youth with migration due to lack of opportunities.

PM Modi claimed that development has taken a back seat, with investments halted and industries shut down, while jobs are being sold. He promised to give jobs to the youth of Bengal as part of "PM Modi's guarantee." Additionally, he accused TMC of blocking several central schemes and being "anti-development."

Infrastructure Projects Inaugurated Ahead of Rally

Before the rally, PM Modi inaugurated infrastructure projects worth Rs 18,680 crore, underscoring the BJP's focus on development in the state. This rally is likely the last addressed by the BJP's biggest vote-catcher before the Election Commission's expected announcement of the poll schedule next week.
